Rooting and 5 Reasons to root your Android Phone

What is this rooting of Android Phones?  When I bought my Samsung Galaxy POP with Android 2.2 last month, My friend Madhukara asked me when are you going to root it?

I mean what root it? I did not understand what this rooting for Android is?
So he said, It is  something like Jail Breaking for Apple. It simply means getting full control over the Android OS, and overcoming the limitations by the Carriers.

But why the name root?
Its derived from the Linux OS, where the Admin is root.

But what are the Benefits?

So here are the reasons why you should root your Android Phone:

1. Full Control over the Administrative privileges of Android OS.
2. Back up and restore the whole system.
3. Save Space on your phone, which is a must on Android Phone.
4. Run Special Applications.
5. Install Custom ROM's.

For more info he gave me a link: http://bit.ly/ae6YwX

Please follow the link for more on why you should go for rooting.

Let me tell you all about Madhukara, he's been my bench mate for 4 long years in Engineering, he is a Tech Geek, and big Apple fan..! there is lot to speak about him, may be in bits and bytes, in my upcoming Posts. By the way he is the inspiration for my blogging.

Any ways I siad to him its just only been a month or so buying this Phone, let me first use and feel Android, and when I get bored, lets try this stuff.

So let me know when are you going to root your phone. And I would surely let you all know when I try this one out.

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like 'Mixview' that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you're listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of "neighbors" will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune "Social" is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.
